Foreman (Lake Havasu, AZ)

Location:  Lake Havasu, AZ


Type of Work:  This opportunity is a new construction on a 20,000 sq. foot VA Clinic.  Underground starts January 2023 with interior construction starting April 2023 with an estimated completion date of Fall 2023.  As Foreman, you will lead a crew of 3-5 electricians.

Requirements:

  • License Journeyman in any state
  • Current driver’s license and good driving record
  • Proven track record of leading previous projects to successful completion as a Foreman

The Power Up Your Future Program is for anyone interested in a career in the electrical construction industry working towards becoming a Journeyman Electrician.  To become a Journeyperson Electrician, you will need 8,000 hours of experience not to be obtained in less than three years registered as an Apprentice Electrician + successfully complete Apprentice Electrician classroom training.  Attending an approved electrical school with 576 hours of classroom training counts as 2,000 credit hours towards your experience.

Magnum will cover up to $7,600 towards your classroom educational costs.  You can choose one of two paths:

  • Earn while you Learn: Attend IEC School once a week while working full-time for Magnum Electric as an Apprentice Electrician. This is a 4-year program which Magnum covers the cost of tuition & books up front and deducts $50 per paycheck until final grades are calculated each year.  If you score 90% or above, Magnum reimburses 100% of the cost.  Passing (70% to 89%) we will do percentage points.  e.g., You achieve 87%, we reimburse you for 87% of tuition cost.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Be employed as an Apprentice Electrician Intern working 40 hours per week for Magnum between Year 1 and Year 2 of attending a 2-year Electrical Construction vocational program.  Students can work part-time during the school year depending on class schedule and proximity.  Upon graduation with a GPA of 3.0, receive a reimbursement annually for two years as long as you are employed full-time by Magnum Electric.

Electrical Estimator

Magnum Electric is thoughtfully growing its’ business opportunities and we have a need for an additional Electrical Estimator on our team based out of our West Fargo office.  We focus on larger scale multi-family and hotel construction, all facets of commercial construction, and some industrial construction as well.

The ideal individual is someone with prior experience in design-build and plan & spec commercial/light industrial electrical estimating. If you are motivated, organized, detail oriented, and driven to succeed we would like to have a conversation with you!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review construction plans and specifications and determine an estimate of the electrical needs and costs
  • Review bid documents to determine what is required to submit a proposal on the project
  • Review bid/construction documents and determine all items necessary for a complete proposal
  • Layout design-build projects and coordinate with other trades
  • Solicit and review vendor quotes
  • Provide written proposals
  • Attend necessary pre-bid meetings and project interviews
  • Provide detailed information to hand-off projects to the assigned Project Manager
  • Negotiate project scopes and contracts
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within our industry
  • Track estimates and follow up with customers
  • Plan and manage upcoming project opportunities
  • Stay up to date with current industry trends and techniques

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • +2 years of experience estimating commercial and light industrial electrical projects
  • Experience with Design-Build projects
  • Deep knowledge of the NEC, as well as current wiring standards and principles, designs, and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively, while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to deadlines
  • Office software experience to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and other software as needed to view/edit blueprints/documents
  • Experience with Bluebeam, or ability to quickly learn
  • Must be able to read blueprints, architectural drawings, construction plans, contract documents, and Spec sheets.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Submit change order requests for approval
  • Stay up to date with current industry trends and techniques

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • +2 years of electrical experience (J-man preferred)
  • Must be customer focused, flexible and reliable.  Ability to handle multiple projects and work outside comfort zone to learn and grow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present well interacting with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors in a professional way.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively, while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to deadlines.
  • Office software experience to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and other software as needed to view/edit blueprints/documents.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, or ability to quickly learn.

This role will focus on completed project service work, residential, farm, small commercial, and multi-family construction wiring.
